„What is left of Postmodernity? A propos the anniversary of Lyotard’s Postmodern Condition

Why do we hardly ever mention postmodernity today? Do we belong to a post-postmodern era or did we simply realize that we are still part of modernity? What were Lyotard’s original intentions in 1979, that is to say, 30 years ago, when he published his Postmodern Condition? Did the discourse on postmodernity appear first of all because society became extremely complex under the influence of new neoliberal capitalism? What kind of parallels are there between the political, artistic and political effects of postmodernity? And, finally: are we still postmodern somehow? The Regional Science Center of the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory (University of Belgrade) organizes a discussion under the title „What is left of Postmodernity? A propos the anniversary of Lyotard’s Postmodern Condition”, with respectable theoreticians.

Participants: Adriana Zaharijević, Predrag Krstić, Alpar Losoncz i Stevan Bradić. Chair: Mark Losoncz.
